Tarrytown Thrift Store Run By Intellectually Disabled
About 15 people stock shelves, take inventory and interact with customers.

TARRYTOWN, NY — A one-of-a-kind thrift shop is located in Tarrytown. Thrifty Finds, which is located in the Community Opportunity Center, is run almost entirely by people with learning and intellectual disabilities. Staffers oversee about 15 people who stock shelves, take inventory and interact with customers five days a week.
The store was the idea of YAI Westchester and revenue generated by it supports other programs, the Hudson Independent said.
Donations are accepted at the Community Opportunity Center, 105 Wildey Street in Tarrytown.
