Three Hundred Artists and Artisans Will Display Hand-crafted Wares at "Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst"
More than 30 food-stand concessionaires and take-home gourmet food-and-beverage exhibitors will participate at this Tarrytown event.
Approximately 300 artists and artisans will display hand-crafted wares on September 18-20, 2015 at “Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst, ” assistant director Laura Kandel said. More than 30 food-stand concessionaires and take-home gourmet food-and-beverage exhibitors will participate in the thirty-first annual staging of this event.
Items offered for sale include jewelry, clothing, leather, glassware, ceramics, woodwork, scenic photography, sculpture, handcrafted furniture, quilts, pottery, prints, paintings and blown-glass objects.
Three Westchester-County based exhibitors that did not appear at the 2015 Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst will introduce their wares: tapestry coat maker Lynn Pullman (Bedford), jeweler Suzanne Schwartz (Katonah), and felted scarf maker Janet Sikirica (Dobbs Ferry).

Other new-to-the-show exhibitors include felt-clothing maker Miriam Carter (Dublin, NH) and Andre Maiwald, a builder of whimsical wooden birdhouses (Perkasie, PA).
New food vendors include Milly’s Organics offering salad dressings (no gluten, no preservatives, and no added salt), Pippy’s Food Truck serving a selection of hot dogs including a chili cheese dog, Pretzel Princess with chocolate covered pretzels, and Sweet Muse, a fudge brownie baker.
Typical gourmet products to be available include chocolate wine, wildflower honey elixir, pear/ginger jam, butter fudge and premium venison cuts.

Food Concessionaires
Aba’s Falafel. Gluten free/vegan falafel. The Israeli falafel balls are made with chickpeas, garlic, onion, parsley, and cilantro, seasoned. Served in a pita pocket or on a plate
Everything About Crepes. Sweet and savory crepes and baguette sandwiches
Greek Isle. Lamb and chicken pitas and Greek salad
Island Cow Ice Cream. Organic, homemade ice cream from Maine
Skinny Buddha Organic Kitchen. Soup and salad
S&S Concessions. Sausage and peppers, hamburgers, coffee and smoothies
Thai Taste Restaurant. Pad thai and chicken skewers
Admission costs (cash or check accepted only) for a weekend ticket are: $12 per adult, $11 for seniors (62 or older), $4 for children (6 to 16) and kids under 6 are admitted free. Parking is free on site and at other nearby parking areas with frequent free shuttle-bus service.
The show opens each day at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. on Friday and Sunday and at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Special activities
Live music will be provided by the Lindsey Webster Band on Saturday and Sunday with emphasis on Rhythm and Blues (dancing permissible).
Jill Liflander (Jilly Puppets of Sleepy Hollow), a puppeteer, dancer and choreographer, will entertain will both a puppet show and a dancing frog performance on Saturday and Sunday. Liflander teaches at SUNY Purchase and her puppet shows are an ongoing activity at the Greenburgh Nature Center in Scarsdale, NY.
Activities for children also include face painting, storytelling, and balloon animal making. Stilt walkers will prance about.
Other activities include making Shibumi silk scarves under the guidance of Patricia Disantis and a making wheel-thrown pottery demonstration by Scott Martin.
The show, in its thirty-first year, is managed by Artrider Productions, formed in 1983 to run crafts shows at Lyndhurst and elsewhere by Stacey Jarit and her husband and co-director Jeff Sobel, who was formerly a town planner for the Village of Tarrytown.
A similar spring crafts show will be held on April 29 to May 1, 2016 and the fall show will return on September 16-18, 2016.
