Thunderstorm Chance Saturday Leads to Hazardous Weather Outlook for Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for potentially severe weather on Saturday and Saturday night for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. 

The National Weather Service said:

THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY NIGHT. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME STRONG TO SEVERE...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND HAIL.

But if you skip the potentially unsettled period of weather Saturday afternoon and evening, you’re looking at pretty great weather on Friday and Sunday. Here is a detailed look at the weekend forecast for southern Westchester County via the National Weather Service:

  • Today: Sunny, with a high near 75. Northwest wind 13 to 16 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 54. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
  • Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11am. Increasing clouds, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Saturday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Southwest wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a northwest wind 11 to 20 mph.
  • Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 57.
