Tower Roofs To Be Installed On New Tappan Zee Bridge

TARRYTOWN, NY — Roofs on the first pair of the new Tappan Zee Bridge main towers will be installed next week, and will replace temporary roofs that have been there since December. The cable stays will also be adjusted.

There is still some more work on the towers that has to be completed before westbound span can open this summer, the Journal News said.

At that point, the current bridge will cease to carry traffic and will begin to be demolished.
