This is the most money we ever spent in one year addressing road conditions. When the work is completed at the end of this year or early next year every town owned roads should be in decent shape. In future years – we won’t be playing catch up –the road repaving will be routine and much less expensive.

Con Ed did lots of underground gas work in Manor Woods in recent years. The road conditions are horrible. We hope to start repaving Manor Woods streets in April. After work is completed in Manor Woods we will blanket the rest of the town –hoping to repave all town streets that are in need of repaving.

NORTH WASHINGTON WILL BE REPAVED,DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, CURBING AND SIDEWALK TO BE COMPLETED

Among the roads in need of work is S Washington and N Washington Ave. Good news for residents. We will address curbing. We had received complaints that the sidewalk on N Washington Ave has a gap in the middle. The town plans to l complete the sidewalk so residents will be able to walk from W Hartsdale Ave to Central Ave. Drainage improvements are also planned.

NEW YORK STATE OWNED ROADS THAT THE TOWN HAS NO CONTROL OVER

KNOLLWOOD ROAD

New York State will begin milling and repaving Knollwood Road at the end of May. Funding for this road was secured with the help of Senator Cousins and Assemblwoman Shimsky.

CENTRAL AVE REPAVING, BASIN REPAIRS

New York State is currently fixing all the basins & are moving south, they are in very bad condition much worse than Yonkers.. ADA ramps will begin end of next week or beginning of 4/13. Milling & paving of Central Ave will begin mid to end of May.

DOBBS FERRY ROAD

Dobbs Ferry Road is also in bad shape. I have reached out to the State DOT and to area lawmakers. The state has no plans to repave Dobbs Ferry Road this year. But hopefully this road will be on the list next year. The NYS Department of Transportation needs more funding from the Governor and State Legislature to address poor road conditions on state owned roads. We will work hard to encourage the state to give Dobbs Ferry Road priority.
