Traffic Advisory Issued Due To Funeral Procession

GREENBURGH, NY — Because slain New York City Police Officer Jason Rivera will be buried at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, the town of Greenburgh has sent out a traffic advisory for Friday.

Town officials said the funeral mass for Rivera will be at St. Patrick's Cathedral. After the mass, the funeral procession will make its way up to Greenburgh for the private, family only service at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Significant traffic delays are expected, and motorists should be aware that Secor Road will be close between Route 9A and Essex Place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Anyone wishing to pay their respects may gather at V.E. Macy Park on Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley.

Gathering on Secor Road around the cemetery is not permitted due to safety and security concerns, town officials said.
