Just got off the phone with the Greenburgh police. They report “numerous trees down.” We anticipate that Central Ave will be closed thru the night and possibly into the rush hour from Ardsley Road to Old Army Road. Con Ed needs to replace three poles.
Ardsley Road also had a big tree that fell -causing closure. But, we anticipate that the road will be cleared in a few hours.
There are a number of trees down -mainly in the southern section of town. Henry Street, Old Army Road, Robin Hill Road are currently closed. A tree down on Forest Blvd.

There were trees down in other sections of the town earlier today. If a tree that fell also caused a wire to fall the town has to wait for Con Ed crews to respond. If wires are not involved the town DPW can remove the tree on our own ---enabling roads to open faster.
Sorry for any inconveniences.

Con Ed has reported extensive damage thus far from this storm and weather reports are showing chances for impact past midnight. Con Ed crews are working to restore customers in a safe and efficient manner by working on jobs that bring back the largest amount of customer count in the shortage amount of time. They are also prioritizing emergency work and making certain areas safe for the public.
