Tuesday, April 28 Is National Blueberry Pie Day
Pastry chef Tracy Kamperdyk Assue is baking blueberry pie at City Limits.

As a child, Tracy Kamperdyk Assue learned how to bake Italian pastries. Years later the art of baking pastries would come back into her life as a career path. During a summer break from college as a business major, she had enjoyed working at a restaurant so much, she changed her course of study and enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, NY.
Following graduation from CIA, she worked at several New York City restaurants for some of Manhattan’s leading chefs including Charlie Palmer, Gray Kunz, David Burke, and Rick Moonen. But it was Pastry Chef Eric Gouteyron at the River Café who inspired her to direct her attention to pastries and desserts.
She worked alongside Richard Leach to open Lespinasse and honed her bread making skills first at gourmet artisan bread company Ecce Panis and then at Amy’s Bread.

Now as the Executive Pastry Chef at City Limits, she creates baked goods and desserts for the City Limits restaurants in White Plains, NY and Stamford, CT. Customers can try her blueberry pie at either restaurant.
