Two New Principals Named to EUFSD Schools

The EUFSD has named Dr. Jeffrey Capuano as principal of Alexander Hamilton High School and Jason Martín as principal at Grady Elementary.

The Elmsford Union Free School District has named Dr. Jeffrey Capuano as principal of Alexander Hamilton High School and Jason Martín as principal of Alice E. Grady Elementary School. Both will begin their new roles at the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

Dr. Jeffrey Capuano – Alexander Hamilton High School

Dr. Capuano permanently takes the helm at Alexander Hamilton High School after serving as the school’ Interim Principal since January 2025. During his interim tenure, he has been dedicated to promoting a shared vision for academic, athletic, artistic, and civic excellence among students, staff, parents, and community members, ensuring that Elmsford students learn how to become both scholars and people of character.

Prior to his arrival in the Elmsford Union Free School District, Dr. Capuano built a distinguished reputation over 21 years as the principal of Eastchester High School in Eastchester, New York. Throughout his administrative career, he has led successful efforts to expand academic offerings for students, including significantly increasing the number of Advanced Placement and college-level courses, while consistently emphasizing rigorous academic expectations. He began his career in education as a biology teacher in Mayfield, New York. He also served as House Principal at Mahopac High School in Putnam County.

He earned his doctorate from the State University of New York at Albany, a Master of Science in Education from The College of Saint Rose, and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from The King’s College.

Jason Martín – Alice E. Grady Elementary School

Additionally, a new face has been named principal of the Alice E. Grady Elementary School.

Jason Martín currently serves as principal of Riverside School in the Greenwich Public Schools district in Greenwich, Conn. Riverside School has approximately 400 students and was recently named a #1 elementary school in Connecticut, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Mr. Martín has extensive administrative experience, having previously served as the principal of West Gate K-8 School in Port Saint Lucie, FL, Rippowam Middle School and assistant principal at Westhill High School in Stamford, Connecticut, as well as holding site administrator and principal roles across New York, Connecticut, and Florida. He began his teaching career in Baltimore County, Maryland, where he taught physics in 2002.

Mr. Martín's references across multiple states describe him as an individual who is highly respected by staff, students, and families alike for the way that he listens intently, collaborates and seeks input, and sets a positive pathway for all students to achieve individual excellence. He is recognized for being highly visible during student arrivals and departures, visiting classrooms daily, supporting faculty and staff, and establishing a joyful learning culture coupled with outstanding teaching and high levels of learning growth.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Mr. Martín earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Towson University, as well as a Master of Science in Building Leadership from Mercy College.

“We are thrilled to welcome two deeply passionate and highly experienced school administrators to these vital leadership roles within our district,” Superintendent Susan Yom said.

“They both thoroughly impressed our interview committees—which consisted of senior administrators, teachers, staff, and parents—with their ability to lead, meet and exceed short and long-term academic goals, and align with district priorities. Our staff, parents, and students can expect Dr. Capuano and Mr. Martín to be highly visible and deeply engaged as they begin on July 1.”
