Vigil Held for Orlando Victims in Tarrytown, Pride Banner Stolen
Church officials feel cutting down the banner was hateful vandalism.
Tarrytown, NY — A vigil to honor the Orlando shooting victims in Tarrytown Tuesday was marred by the fact that a gay pride banner was stolen.
Attendees of the vigil at The Christ Episcopal Church lit candles, prayed for the people struck down in the gay nightclub and read their names, News12.com reported.

The massacre at The Pulse Orlando Night Club & Ultra Lounge on Sunday was apparently orchestrated by Omar Mateen. He killed 49 nightclub patrons and injured 53 others.

Sometime Tuesday morning a gay pride flag that had been hung at the church in response to the mass shooting was cut down, something church officials think was hateful vandalism, lohud.com reported.
The Rev. Susan Copley told lohud.com that it looked as if it were intentional and that it was upsetting, but she bought more banners.
