Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Community Impact Volunteers

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Lower Hudson Valley, courtesy of Volunteer New York!. This is a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

This week, we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

Community Impact Volunteers
Throughout the year, Volunteer New York! organizes customized days of service for large groups of corporate volunteers to address community needs, and the Community Impact Volunteer Team is instrumental in making these events a success! Community Impact Volunteers assist with prepping and packing project supplies, checking-in volunteers, and providing day-of project support. This is a great leadership opportunity for volunteers ages 18+.

Wildflower Island Guides
Wildflower Island Guides are special volunteers who lead small group tours of Teatown Lake Reservation's two-acre island from April through September. Volunteers who are interested in learning more about this program can join this upcoming information session to see if it's a right fit. Wear weather-appropriate clothing!

Website and Social Media Support
Interfaith Prison Partnership (IPP) offers justice-impacted people opportunities for rehabilitation and healing through connection with their community. It is seeking a volunteer to assist with its website and social media presence. This is the perfect opportunity for a volunteer who is creative and very comfortable in social media spaces to help the organization develop a meaningful and impactful presence.
