HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Lower Hudson Valley, courtesy of Volunteer New York!. This is a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

Gift Shop Volunteers

The Scarsdale Woman’s Exchange is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join its charming nonprofit gift shop team. This is the perfect role for those who enjoy meeting people, creating beautiful displays, and being part of a welcoming community. Volunteers will assist customers, gift wrap purchases, organize inventory.
Date: Weekly from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 1:30-5 p.m.

Help the Child Care Council of Westchester bid adieu to its current space and welcome an exciting move to a new location. This gathering will be a meaningful moment for staff to reflect, connect, and say goodbye to a place that has meant so much to all of them. Volunteers can celebrate by working on decorations, greeting guests, and passing out refreshments.

Civic Helpers

Civic Helpers is seeking a conscientious individual to serve as its Treasurer to assist with maintaining electronic financial books and related government filings. Facility with numbers, an attention to details, and familiarity with QuickBooks Online are all pluses!

Backpack Drive for Kindergarten Kids

Family Services of Westchester is collecting backpacks filled with school supplies for Head Start program graduates! Each kindergarten-bound child will receive the readiness tools they need to prepare for their big transition in the fall. Items needed include: small backpacks, colored pencils, construction paper, crayons, and more. This is a great opportunity for an office group or classroom.
Date: Drop off by 6/18
