Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Young and Older
Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities somewhere in the Hudson Valley.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week Patch will be highlighting a volunteer opportunity — or two — in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.
And if you are in an organization that has some need for volunteers, be sure to let us know by emailing michael.woyton@patch.com.
This week we are putting the spotlight on a couple of opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

It Takes a Village 10591, a volunteer organization serving residents 55 and up in the 10591 ZIP code, is seeking service coordinators and volunteer drivers to help of that age group remain independent in their own homes. Organizers said the bulk of what they do is provide rides to medical appointments, social events and some in-home services.
The service coordinators take requests for service from senior members of the community and match them with the available on-call volunteers. Drivers can be anyone with a few hours per month to spare or even someone looking for a more meaningful way to use your lunch break.
