Weather Dud? Forecasts Call for Less Precipitation in Hudson Valley

Looks like there will be less snow in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam this weekend than initially predicted.

On Thursday, forecasters were predicting a potentially big snow event over the weekend into early next week in much of the Hudson Valley, but by Friday those expectations have diminished.

No weather outlooks, alerts or warnings were posted on the National Weather Service website as of 5 p.m. Friday for the weekend, though some precipitation is expected.

That precipitation is being called a chance of a wintry mix for much of the region Saturday, Saturday night, Sunday and Sunday. But snow accumulations are expected to be less than two inches in Rockland and Putnam counties, and less than one inch in the communities in southern portions of Westchester County.

By Monday, the snow will pick up a bit through the region and could leave up to four inches in the northern counties and up to three inches in Southern Westchester.

So far Tuesday looks dry with highs in the low 30s.
