When Will the Snow End?

Westchester County sees snow through most of Thursday, which could impact the evening commute, and then temps will plummet.

This is an odd winter storm for Westchester County and it’s not over. In fact, it could linger right up to or even during tonight’s commute home from work.

And then residents will be dealing with freezing temperatures for tonight, which will make roads icy and difficult to travel.

Typically, the northern half of the county receives the bulk of the accumulation because the temperatures tend to remain colder there, and on the shoreline, or the I-95 corridor, the snow often mixes with sleet and rain.

Well in this case, the opposite happened.

Communities to the north are seeing a bit less snow, but still enough to cause school districts to first announce delayed openings, then to change to full snow closures. Many of the school districts in Southern Westchester called for closures early because the lower regions received more snow.
