Woman Enters Plea In Theft Of $250K From Tarrytown Company

Authorities said the woman improperly paid herself commissions in addition to her regular salary.

TARRYTOWN, NY — A woman who was accused of stealing almost a quarter of a million dollars from the company she worked for has admitted her guilt. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Wednesday that Theresa Casey, 59, of Yonkers, pleaded guilty to second-degree grand larceny, a felony, in the theft of almost $250,000 from the Tarrytown company where she was employed.

Authorities said Casey worked as a bookkeeper in the payroll department of Allan M. Block Insurance Company, which provides life, homeowner’s and business insurance.

As part of her responsibilities, she managed payments to insurance agents, who were paid on commission.
