Liu</li><li>Carolyn Y. Liu</li><li>Amber K. Luo</li><li>Rahul Ram</li><li>Claire Yang</li><li>William H. Zhang</li><li>Lillian M. Zhiy</li></ul> The seniors will have an opportunity to continue on in the competition for about 7,500 National Merit Scholarships, which are worth nearly $30 million and will be offered next spring, according to a news release. About 95 percent of the semifinalists are expected to achieve finalist standing, and about half of the finalists will win a scholarship and earn the title of National Merit Scholar, the news release stated.
