2 Taken To Local Hospital After 2-Vehicle Crash In Stony Brook: Police

A Chevy Suburban was struck and then went into a pole, Suffolk police say.

STONY BROOK, NY — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning in Stony Brook, Suffolk police said.

A Chevrolet Suburban was driving west on North Country Road when it was struck on the passenger side by a Mercedes, which was making a left turn onto North Country Road from a shopping center, just after 9 a.m., according to police.

The Suburban then struck a pole, police said.

The driver and passenger of the Suburban were taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

It was not the only crash in which someone was hurt on Wednesday.

A motorcycle and a vehicle were involved in a crash on Bellport Avenue in North Bellport at around 2 p.m., police said. At least one person sustained a non-life-threatening injury, according to police.

There was another crash at Sills Road and Sunrise Highway East Patchogue at around 1:2o p.m.
