Residents Escape Burning Stony Brook Home After Pre-Dawn Fire Breaks Out In Bathroom: Police
It broke out at around 4 a.m., drawing area firefighters, Suffolk police say.
STONY BROOK, NY — Arson squad detectives are investigating a two-alarm fire that broke out at a Stony Brook home early Thursday morning, Suffolk police said.
It started in a bathroom at the Salem Drive home just after 4 a.m., and all of the people inside the home were able to escape to safety, according to police.
The fire was extinguished by the Setauket and Stony Brook fire departments, police said.

It was one of at least two fires that arson investigated locally within a day, officials said.
