Baking Holiday Treats at R.C. Murphy Junior High School

Tasty treats delivered to local families.

R.C. Murphy Junior High School’s community connections club helped to stir, sift and bake up a warm holiday season for those in need this year by creating tasty treats for local families.

Throughout the year, the club devotes its time to volunteering and making positive connections with individuals living within the Three Village community. From baking apple pies during Thanksgiving to knitting and crocheting hats for the neonatal unit at Stony Brook University the club spearheads several hands-on initiatives.

This December, the students collaborated with the school’s SHARP club, to bake dozens of scratch made cookies for area residents. The baked goods were divided among 18 tins festive tins and delivered just before the holiday break.
