To all our friends and customers. After 24 years serving the communities in and around the Stonybrook area, it saddens us to have the Brookhouse end in an eviction as it did. We love the area and our customers became our friends. We watched their children grow up and go of to college. And how many of them became part of our Brookhouse staff, such good memories.........Yes, we sold the restaurant in Nov of 2010, to it's current owner, but, part of us never left. We needed to spend more time with our own children and grandchildren. We also considered the village was due for a younger more energetic owner to carry on the Brookhouse tradition. We were blessed to have spent all those years in an area we loved, and a great staff that helped us succeed in the village..............................So everyone knows, when Eagle Realty Holdings the landlord for the village, it's president, chairperson, and some committee members knew the end was in site for the current owner. They had refused to renew his lease. We were approached and asked to return with a verbal promise of their assistance and support to return the Brookhouse back to the way it was, we agreed...........After some months of behind the scenes wheeling and dealing, and who made a deal with who, as is the usual conduct for Eagle Realty, the verbal promises they made were no longer viable with their dealings with a future tenant. Even with a partnership of a financially sound and local resident, our attempts to re- establish our selves in the village were turned down by the landlord, .Suggesting they had already decided who was going to be the next tenant in the Brookhouse space, long before the current tenants lease was up......We approached Eagle Realty on Nov.15 2013,four days before the sheriff arrived, to reaffirm our commitment to the village. We were ready and willing to re-enter the restaurant and have it opened by the following weekend. We had approval from the current owner to leave every thing in it's place so the doors wouldn't be closed. We were turned away again.................Our fondest memories of the Stonybrook area and the village were shattered by watching the sheriff, and the landlords henchman put 24 years of memories out on the street. We stayed with the current owner on Tuesday the 19, as we felt obligated. We were stopped by many of our old friends and customers, good to talk to them, but, not at a good time...............So our wish for all our old customers and friends is that the village returns to normal, so that their children have a new place to call their second home, and that Eagle Realty gets back to thinking of the interest of the community, and what the residents really want............To all our staff that came and went during our last 24 years, we will always have good memories........And to our children and families for allowing us to follow our dreams.........Thank you!!! Sincerely with fond memories Karen and Michele...........BrookHouse Nov.1986 to Nov,2010.
