UPDATED: Police ID Man Killed In 4-Car Selden Crash
BREAKING: The man was pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected from his car, police say. The crash happened Thursday morning.
SELDEN, NY — A Middle Island man was killed Thursday morning in a four-car crash in Selden. The crash happened on Middle Country Road around 8:30 a.m., Suffolk County Police told Patch.
Nathaniel Davis, 42, was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus at a high speed in the center turning lane of westbound Route 25 when he hit a 2016 Ford pickup that was in the left lane of eastbound Route 25 at Dare Road, police said. Davis' car then hit a 2014 Chevrolet sedan that was eastbound in the center turning lane, police said. Debris from the collision then hit a westbound box truck.
Davis was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. The Chevrolet driver, Jeanette Papadakis, 59, of Selden, was brought to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the Ford pickup, Luis Rivas, 47, of Central Islip, was not injured.

Motor Carrier Safety Section officers inspected the box truck and Ford pickup truck at the scene. The Ford Taurus and Chevrolet sedan were impounded for a safety check.
Middle Country Road remains closed in both directions between North Bicycle Path and South Evergreen Drive, according to 511 NY.
