Gelinas Science Olympiad Heads To Nationals

The team captured first place during this year's New York State Science Olympiad Competition!

THREE VILLAGE, NY - From Three Village Central School District: P.J. Gelinas Junior High School’s Science Olympiad team is bound for the national competition this May, after capturing first place during this year’s New York State Science Olympiad Competition.

Of the 39 competing regional champions, Gelinas took three first place ribbons, six second place ribbons and four third place ribbons in the 26 individual events.

“What a wonderful experience it was,” said head coach Chris Marotta. “The kids worked so well together; not only with their teammates but with the new friends from other teams which they met at the Science Olympiad. They all helped each other in the spirit of good sportsmanship. It was a beautiful experience, which I am certain that they will carry for their entire lives.”
