From Setauket Elementary School: Setauket Elementary School students are brushing up on their foundational mathematics skills as part of a fun activity organized by school math specialist Lisa Wall.

In the spirit of the spring season, Ms. Wall created an egg hunt activity for all grade 1-5 students that could be conducted in individual classrooms. Hidden in the 32 eggs were math questions specifically targeted to each grade level and aligned with the district’s Go Math program. After discovering the hidden eggs, the students worked independently to solve the challenge.

Each problem was specifically tailored to test the students’ understanding of a problem and concept previously covered in class. After the students’ responses were reviewed by the classroom teacher and Ms. Wall, both were able to provide additional support and instruction on concepts that students had incorrectly answered.
