Man Stole Credit Card Number, Bought Thousands in Target Gift Cards: Police

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who they say stole the credit card number of a Stony Brook resident and used it to make purchases.

According to Suffolk Police, the man used the stolen credit card number to buy more than $4,200 worth of Target gift cards online in November. The man had the cards shipped to the UPS facility in Farmingville, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
