Mother and Daughter Killed, 2 Hurt in Long Island Crash
The two-car crash occurred Saturday evening.

SELDEN, NY — A Long Island mother and daughter were killed and two others were injured in a two-car crash Saturday evening, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, 22-year-old Shuofang Yang was driving a 2013 Audi S4 on Adirondack Drive when he attempted to make a left turn onto westbound Middle County Road at about 5 p.m. His car collided with a Nissan Altima that was traveling eastbound on Middle County Road, police said.
The driver of the Nissan, Marie Sanacore, 73, of Beaver Trail in Coram, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Her mother, Nellie Furino, 96, of the same address, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she died a short time later.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. No criminal charges have been filed. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
