Murphy Speller Advances To LI Competition
Eighth-grader Sammi Feil is one of only 50 spellers from Long Island to have qualified for the Long Island Regional Spelling Bee.
THREE VILLAGE, NY - From Three Village Central School District: As the result of her performance, R.C. Murphy Junior High School eighth-grader Sammi Feil is one of only 50 spellers from Long Island to have qualified for the Long Island Regional Spelling Bee, which will be held on March 20, 2019 at St. Joseph’s College.
In order to qualify for the contest, Sammi had to take an online Scripps spelling and vocabulary test consisting of 50 words. The champion of the 2019 Long Island Regional Spelling Bee will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee held from May 26–May 31, in National Harbor, Maryland.
