Nearly 1K Worth Of Pokemon Cards Swiped From Suffolk Target: Cops

CENTEREACH, NY — Team Rocket would be proud — Pikachu not so much.

A man swiped nearly $1,000 worth of Pokemon cards from Target in South Setauket in December, Suffolk police said Tuesday.

He made off with 82 packages of the highly-coveted and traded cards from the Pond Path location at around 2 p.m. on Dec. 3, police said, adding that the merchandise was valued at about $990.

The crime is being investigated as petty larceny by Suffolk's 6th Squad in Selden.

The theft was just shy of $1,000, which would have upgraded it to grand larceny.

Suffolk Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
