Outback Steakhouse Closes After 30 Years East Setauket: Reports

It closed after last weekend due to its lease expiring, News 12 reported.

EAST SETAUKET, NY — Outback Steakhouse in East Setauket has closed its doors, according to published reports.

News 12 reported that the business closed this past weekend due to their lease expiring.

The restaurant, which was located in a shopping center off of Nesconset Highway, had been in operation for the last 30 years, the outlet reported.

Bloomin’ Brands, its parent company, closed 21 locations in October as part of a “comprehensive turnaround strategy," according to the outlet.

Workers could be seen moving equipment from the restaurant into a U-Haul, Greater Long Island reported.

A spokesperson told the outlet: “Some team members will have the opportunity to transfer to a nearby restaurant and will also receive a transition bonus."

"We appreciate the community’s support the past 30 years and look forward to serving them at our Holbrook, Commack, or Lindenhurst restaurants," they added.

Other locations around Long Island include Island Park and Westbury.
