STONY BROOK, NY — A 23-year-old paraplegic woman last seen checking herself out of Stony Brook University Hospital has been reported missing, Suffolk police said.

It is not clear why Watson was at the hospital, as police cannot release that information for privacy reasons, but they did say that she left the hospital “against medical advice.” Investigators do not believe that she is a danger to herself, a police spokeswoman said.
Watson left the hospital alone and did not get into an ambulance or ambulette, according to a police. How she left, whether it was in a taxi or if she got a ride, "is under investigation," she said.
