The Tuskegee Airmen (Online Class)

Learn the story of the Tuskegee Airmen and how they took down enemy aircraft abroad and racial barriers at home. Explore how the work of the Tuskegee Airmen changed attitudes about blacks in the military. Led by Jeffrey Urbin, Education Specialist at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum. Join Opera Singer & Librarian Tanisha Mitchell for a tribute to legendary African American singers who performed at prestigious venues like the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, and the Royal Opera House. Sound clips featuring Marian Anderson, Leontyne Price, Paul Robeson, and George Shirley will be included. This program also contains an aria tribute performed by the presenter.
