STONY BROOK, NY — Stony Brook University Hospital earned high praise for its nursing school program.

The SBU School of Nursing ranked No. 5 in New York State according to RegisteredNursing.org., which has been ranking nursing school programs statewide for three years now.

"The [program] offers several baccalaureate pathways to an RN education," the site wrote. "Stony Brook prides itself on its innovative, high-quality, and accessible nursing programs. Clinical experiences take place at Stony Brook University Medical Center, which is the only level-one trauma center in the area. Upon graduation from this accredited institution, students are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam."

The school received a score of 96.01 from the site. NCLEX-RN exam pass rates was the most valuable data component, though tuition cost, average program length, geo coverage, further educational pathways and partnerships and number of annual cohorts also factored into how the site scored nursing school programs.
