SETAUKET, NY — A Setauket home caught fire on Sunday evening. The fire broke out around 7 p.m., according to Suffolk County police, who said the home was unoccupied at the time.
Chief Paul Rodier of the Setauket Fire Department was the first to arrive at 7:14 p.m. He saw a fire on the front porch of the house, he told Patch. The fire department managed to quickly put out the flames, preventing it from spreading throughout the house.
The people who live at the house were away, Rodier said. No one was injured.
