Stony Brook Ranked 5th Best Place For Young Families NY
Long Island towns claim six of the top 10 spots on the list, according to new study by website.

According to a recent study by finance website NerdWallet, Stony Brook is the fifth best place for young families in New York.
Of the top 10 places on the list, six of them are on Long Island. In putting together its rankings, NerdWallet says it considered home affordability, prosperity and growth, family friendliness and quality of education.

The top Long Island spot in our list, this North Shore hamlet has leveraged its recent economic growth and quality schools to become a premier destination for young families. Stony Brook schools earned a 9 from GreatSchools, and a median family has seen its income grow 60% since 1999, the best mark in the top 10. Stony Brook is also home to the Long Island Museum of American Art, History, and Carriages, which is a Smithsonian Institution affiliate.
