Stony Brook U To Host Screening Of '9/11: An American Requiem' And Q & A Thursday

STONY BROOK, NY — Stony Brook's WTC Health & Wellness Program and The Staller Center for the Arts are hosting a free encore screening of 9/11: An American Requiem on Thursday.

The documentary features first-hand stories from 9/11 responders that continue to shape the nation's collective memory, university officials said.

The commemorative screening will include a special question and answer session after the film with two of the film's producers, Dr. Benjamin Luft and Julie Broihier, as well as several of the responders featured in the film.

The event is free and open to the public as part of Stony Brook World Trade Center Health and Wellness Program.

Panelists include Luft, executive producer and director of the film, as well as principal investigator for the Stony Brook WTC Health & Wellness Program.

The film's producer and deputy director, Broihier, is also a panelist. Also included will be Carol Paukner, a New York City Transit Department police officer, Rob Weisberg, a volunteer firefighter with the Commack Fire Department, and William Fischer, a New York Police Department officer from the Emergency Services Unit.

The film will begin at 7 p.m. at the Staller Center for the Arts' Main Stage, 100 Nicolls Road, Stony Brook.
