Suffolk Bank Robber Caught After Failed Getaway: Police
Suffolk Police wasted no time in apprehending a man they say robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon.

SELDEN, NY – A 31-year-old man was arrested just minutes after he robbed a bank in Suffolk County Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Rashan Burris, of Wyandanch, is charged with first degree robbery.
According to police, Burris entered Chase bank located at 999 Middle Country Road in Selden at about 3 p.m. and presented a note demanding cash. He threatened the use of a weapon, but did not display one, police said.

The teller complied with his demands and Burris fled on foot, police said.
Officers from the Sixth Precinct, Canine Section and Emergency Services Section responded and located Burris, who has spent time in prison in recent years for robbery and petty larceny convictions, according to court records.

Burris is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Wednesday.
