December 1, 2016, Stony Brook, NY-- Taj Express - The Bollywood Musical Revue brings an original Indian musical to Staller Center for the Arts Main Stage at Stony Brook University on Saturday, February 11 at 8:00 pm. Capturing the vibrant spirit of the world of Bollywood, the musical features a video journey from Mumbai to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. A street-smart thief and a young woman who wants to unite with the man of her dreams both board the Taj Express, not knowing that destiny will bring them together. On stage, the destined lovers, dancers from Bollywood films, and accomplished Indian musicians fuse east and west with classical dance steps, modern moves, traditional silks and turbans, along with leather and lycra.

Taj Express features scores by AR Rahman, Oscar winning composer known for Slum Dog Millionaire, and called the “John Williams of Indian film,” as well as music by composers Salim-Sulaiman Merchant and Monty Sharma. Taj Express is produced, directed and choreographed by the Merchants, Vaibhavi and Shruti, of the Bollywood film industry family dynasty.

In 2012, the Indian Government pledged their support of Taj Express on a global platform through their brand “Incredible India.” The show features all the extravaganza, escapism and romance that is Bollywood.
