Taking Care of Teddy

From Three Village Schools: Setauket Elementary School kindergarten students acted as emergency room doctors during a recent interactive workshop with representatives from Stony Brook University.

During the “Teddy Bear Clinic” program, the students were reminded of important safety tips to keep in mind when riding a car or a bicycle before suiting up as professional doctors. Wearing protective gloves, hairnets and facemasks the students took care of their most precious stuffed animals by adhering bandages, braces and splints.

The program served not only as a reminder of a variety of safety tips but also to help ease students’ apprehensions of going to the doctor.
