Teen Bicyclist Struck By 2 Cars On Route 347 Seriously Injured
BREAKING: It happened Monday night, police say.

SETAUKET, NY – An 18-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by two cars on Route 347 Monday night, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, Stefan Kochaniwsky was riding a bicycle across Route 347 from the south side to the north side in front of 3990 Route 347 in Setauket when he was struck by an eastbound 2004 Ford Mustang. He was then also struck by an eastbound 2005 Jeep Liberty.
Kochaniwsky, of Centereach, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Ford, a 22-year-old Port Jefferson Station man and the driver of the Jeep, a 23-year-old Shirley woman, were not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
