- R.C. Murphy Junior High School's Community Connections/Home and Careers Club have been making dog biscuits for the staff members to buy in exchange for a donation to the local organization, Save a Pet. (Press Release Desk)
- A Long Island woman who was a victim of a fatal hit-and-run in Stony Brook has been identified. Centereach resident Gina Paduano, 33, was fatally hit on March 7 on Route 347 in Stony Brook. The driver fled in the vehicle westbound on the roadway, police said. (Daily Voice)
- To celebrate Women's History Month, Long Island Museum is exhibiting "Two Centuries of Long Island Women Artists, 1800-2000." The artwork is not just created with a brush and canvas, there is a quilt made by 30 different women and given as a gift to Rev. William H. Simonson of Port Jefferson in 1859. The new exhibit is on view at the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook through Sept. 4. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- The Ward Melville High School's Choral Union was recently invited to perform at Disney World. After taking the stage at the Waterside/Marketplace in Disney Springs, the choral members participated in a workshop led by Disney Professionals and had a wonderful time. (Press Release Desk)
