Three Village Science Olympiad Team Advances To State Contest
Ward Melville High School's varsity Science Olympiad team recently competed in the Eastern Long Island Regional Tournament.
SETAUKET, NY — Ward Melville High School’s talented varsity Science Olympiad team recently competed in the Eastern Long Island Regional Tournament, the largest regional competition in New York State, the Three Village Central School District stated via news release.
The squad placed first out of 52 competing teams. As the tournament champions, Ward Melville has qualified to compete in the New York State Tournament in Syracuse on March 13-14.
Ward Melville was represented by three teams at the tournament: the first-place varsity team and two junior varsity teams. The varsity team placed in the top-three in 18 out of 23 events at the regional competition.
