Toy With Wires Wrapped Around It Evacuates Setauket Walmart

SETAUKET, NY - The Setauket Walmart was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a person left a small plastic toy with wires wrapped around the outside and a note on it at the store.

Police received a 911 call at 4:57 p.m. reporting the incident at the store located at 3990 Nesconset Highway. Police have not revealed what the note attached to the toy said.

The store was evacuated as a precaution. The toy was determined to not be dangerous and people will be allowed back in the store shortly, police told Patch at 7:20 p.m.

Sixth Squad detectives are continuing to investigate.
