'Wicked's' Original Good Witch, Kristin Chenowith, To Perform On Long Island

The Tony and Emmy award-winning actress now starring in Apple TV's "Schmigadoon!," will perform tunes from her solo show, "For the Girls."

STONY BROOK, NY — The original Glinda, the good witch, is coming to Long Island this winter.

Award-winning actress Kristin Chenowith plans to take the stage of the Staller Center in Stony Brook on Feb. 11.

Her show, “For the Girls,” will offer up a repertoire from her sold-out solo engagement on Broadway, and only a few days away from “Galentine’s Day.”

Chenowith made her debut in 1997. Two years later, she won a Tony Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Sally in "You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown." She catapulted to stardom with her role of Glinda in the mega-hit, "Wicked," earning her second Tony nomination.

She has since won multiple Tony awards, and is also known beyond Broadway for her extensive film and television career, where she has picked up a bevy of Emmy Awards for roles in shows like "Pushing Daisies," "Glee," "The West Wing," and "Trial and Error."

She is currently appearing in Apple TV’s "Schmigadoon!"

On the big screen, Chenowith has appeared in films like "Four Christmases," "You Again," and "The Boy Next Door" and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015.

She has produced eight chart-topping albums in her career.
