Woman Charged With DWI After Suffolk Crash That Critically Injures Passenger

BREAKING: The woman was arrested after her car struck a tree early Sunday, police say. A 21-year-old man is in critical condition.

CENTEREACH, NY – A 21-year-old man is in critical condition following a single-car crash in Suffolk County early Sunday and the woman who was driving the car has been charged with DWI, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, 21-year-old Paige Reddy, of Centereach, was driving a 2011 Toyota Prius northbound on Mark Tree Road in Centereach when her vehicle struck a tree just north of School Street at 3:28 a.m.

Reddy’s passenger, Matthew Borkowski, 21, also of Centereach, was critically injured and admitted to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Reddy was transported to Stony Brook where she was admitted for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Reddy will be arraigned at a later date on the DWI charge.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
