5 Upper East Side Apartments Hit by Burglar Within 2 Months: Police
The suspected burglar entered the apartments through windows before stealing items worth thousands of dollars, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are searching for a person accused of burglarizing five apartments on the Upper East Side within two months.
From Nov. 4 to Dec. 29 four burglaries and two attempted burglaries were reported in two buildings in the vicinity of First Avenue and East 65th Street, police told Patch. The same person is suspected in all five burglaries, and it's believed he gained entrance to the apartments through unlocked windows, police told Patch.
In one of the buildings — located on First Avenue — the burglar was able to successfully break into three apartments, police said. Residents of one apartment in the building reported that a $900 parka, $520 boots and $150 jersey were stolen sometime between Nov. 4 and Dec. 21, police told Patch.

A neighbor reported that earrings and a pair of sunglasses — of unknown worth — were stolen between Dec. 22 and Dec. 29, police said. The burglar attempted to re-burglarize the apartment on Dec. 29 but fled after a resident woke up around 6 a.m. and noticed him trying to enter through the window, police told Patch.
Between 8 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. the burglar entered a third apartment in the building via a fire escape and stole $100 cash and 570 Euros, police told Patch.

The suspected burglar broke into an apartment in the second building — located on East 65th Street — sometime between Dec. 20 and 26, police told Patch. A $300 Playstation 4, two $60 controllers and several Playstation 4 games were reported stolen from the apartment, police said.
On Dec. 29 the burglar tried to break into a second apartment in the building but fled when a resident woke up as he was entering the apartment through the window, police said.
