UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Marlow East, the Lenox Hill restaurant known for its elevated Southern-inspired menu, is seeing a surge of attention after appearing in The Devil Wears Prada 2, the restaurant told Patch.
The new film, following the chic and cutthroat world of fashion media, features a scene with characters Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) and Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) sharing a copper tin of wedge fries in the restaurant’s upstairs dining room, seated at a corner table overlooking the intersection of Lexington Avenue and East 73rd Street.
Since the movie’s release on May 1, the restaurant says guests have increasingly requested that specific upstairs corner table, which staff has begun referring to as "The Devil Wears Prada 2 table."
"Since the movie came out, guests have been asking for the wedge fries, so we decided to add them back to all the menus. They are now available all throughout the day," Marlow East's owner Elena Ristovski said. "We have also had many guests specifically request the corner table upstairs."
The potato wedges, which were previously available as a brunch-only item, are now offered throughout the day following the film’s release, and are being rebranded as "Emily Fries" for the notoriously anti-carb character.
"Anne Hathaway specifically requested wedge fries for the movie, so they have become a new staple on the menu," Ristovski told Patch.
Marlow East is located at 1022 Lexington Ave.
