UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A historic Upper East Side townhouse previously owned by convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell closed on Tuesday at $16.5 million.
The anonymous buyer bought the residence at 116 E. 65th St. in Lenox Hill from the seller, AstraNYC LLC, which acquired the home in 2022 for $16 million, according to city records.
Built in 1910, the five-story townhouse spans roughly 7,000 square feet and sits on one of the neighborhood's prized townhouse blocks, according to The Real Deal, which first reported this news.
The property was previously the home of Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year federal prison sentence related to her role in Jeffrey Epstein's sex-trafficking operation.
The sale topped all residential transactions filed in the city on Tuesday.
