UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A 66-year-old woman has been arrested and accused of stabbing a 54-year-old woman on the Upper East Side, New York City Police Department officials said Monday.
According to the NYPD, the 54-year-old woman was stabbed while inside an apartment in 210 East 73rd St., between Second and Third avenues, mid-day on Saturday.
Cops, who arrived at 12:39 p.m., found the victim with a stab wound in her stomach, police said.
Medics rushed the woman to New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she was in stable condition, police said.
Police said they have arrested 66-year-old Barbara Salberg and have charged her with two counts of assault and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.
According to the police, Salberg lives in the building where the stabbing took place.
The incident is under investigation by police.
