Gorzynski was crossing from east to west on East 91 Street at Park Avenue on Dec. 1 around 2:42 p.m., less than a block from where he lived, when a 67-year-old man driving a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Van hit him, NYPD officials said.

The driver was heading west on East 91st Street and making a left turn onto Park Avenue, police said.

When police arrived, they found the victim in the roadway with head and body trauma. He was rushed to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The driver remained on the scene.
