
Francis Poulenc’s Figure Humaine, an 8-movement exploration of the grim realities of war based on resistance-inspired poems by Paul Éluard forms the centerpiece of Skylark’s innovative concert program based on their GRAMMY®-nominated recording, Clear Voices in the Dark. A powerful cross-cultural statement about the expressive power of the arts, specifically the human voice, in times of tragedy, their program will include well-known and lesser-known musical images from the American Civil War era.
